Where to get cold weather flying alliance

Comment by Unfortunately, Blizzard makes you wait 7 levels to reuse your flight mount in Northrend after you gain it in Outland. However, by the time you reach 7 levels, you will have accumulated about g in quest rewards and vendor trash, maybe more, so it's not that big a deal. The easiest place to get this for most people is Krasus' Landing, Dalaran. Costs g, but makes Northrend a helluva lot easier.

Comment by dabby Essentially this makes a flying mount worthless for characters that were level 69 or less before the xpack, until they hit As soon as you hit 70 and you are allowed to take a flying mount, you are shipping off to Northrend to continue leveling. What a poor mechanic. Comment by Aww. I was looking forward to flying a mount in Northrend when I got it.. Guess not. Comment by ego Since im only level 65 and have journeyman riding skill does this mean if i save up and when i hit level 77 and learn this skill this will teach me how to fly or do i also have to learn flying skill at level 70 in outlands?

Comment by ChrisScott If you reach level 77 and haven't got g or g if you haven't got Expert Riding don't stress. Gets the job done though. Comment by The Lapse Rate per feet of altitude gained is 2.

Helpful math to know if you're flying or climbing. If its 68, and you go up 10, feet, its going 46 degrees. If you're on you're mount at 20, feet and the ground temperature was in the 40's when you took off, its sub zero. See you on the Quel Makes no sence at all. Blizz owes druids who wasted 1, gold on deicing their selves gold.

I figured I'd wait will 77 when I can fly in Northrend. You'll have to buy the following: - g Expert Riding req lvl 70 Skill - g Artisan Riding req lvl 70 Skill - g Cold Weather Flying req lvl 77 "ability to fly in Northrend" Don't forget the cost of the mount Comment by Caewyn So there isn't any point in buying a flying mount prior to level 77 if levelling in Northrend?

I left the Outlands at 68, and realise there is use for a flying mount there, but if I dont feel the need, or want to go back there, is there any other use for the mount? Or should I just wait till level 77 and buy only the epic flying mount rather than have 2, one that I can only use in the Outlands and one I can then use in both? Comment by ramijob "Remember to take all things in consideration, even World of Warcraft".

Comment by "What about flying so high in outlands you are pretty much in space and have no oxygen or heat? Comment by does anyone know if you can ride the horseman's reins aka: headless horseman's steed on the ground with out CWF? Comment by Norr I think I must be the only one who thinks this sucks. For me, a casual gamer, its not easy to save up gold. Then I find I have to fork out a further g just to fly this in Northrend? But for me it is. Its going to take me forever to save up gold again.

Why not charge us g and allow us to fly in outland and northrend? Because that would be too easy. Not to mention you have to be level Who thought up that figure. The book is a bind to account item. Comment by maryadams84 I also bought the book and sent it to my level 76 priest and she can now fly in Northrend. According to the requirements of the book, you only have to be level 68 to learn it. Comment by This is confirmed, it's called Tome of Cold Weather Flight not found on wowhead quite yet, so no link.

One caveat is that it must be bought from your level 80 character. It is bind to account, and once read is consumed. You'll have to buy multiple copies of the book with your level 80 character if you have more than one character to train.

Comment by weird cause I've seen a 73 hunter flying over me in dragonblight can anyone explain? Comment by ther4ng3rx As of 3.

You can only purchase it at level 80 but you can learn it at level Comment by Pebber Just to clearify. The first character you level to 80 will have to wait until level 77 to learn Cold Weather Flight from the trainer.

When that character reaches 80, you will be able to buy the "bind on account" tome an Heirloom item and send it to any alt you wish to learn the skill. Comment by can i get it more sheep then g if i have reputation exalted with the city there it sell? Comment by I was confused for a long time as no one could clarify the requirements and conseqnece of the Tome of Cold Weather Flight.

You have to purchase the Tome of Cold Weather Flight for each alt, i. The tome just allows for alts to fly in Northrend from lvl68 rather than wait until lvl Comment by pino A blizzard gimmick? All you get in WoW is a Blizzard gimmick. Why wait for lvl 20 to ride? It's easier to ride then to fight. Why give locks and pally's their mount?

If they are so uber, they get the money for it easier. Why allow people with a lvl 80 to buy the CWF-tome for lvl 68 characters? In RL it's the same person but not in-game so why can THEY learn it quicker even with less flight-hours than some other people who flew all the way through Outlands and have the money but ain't 77 yet? It's all to make things a little more challenging.

They are already making stuff a little to easy imo. I had to walk untill I reach lvl 30, some even untill lvl Scraping money together still getting max of 45s for lvl quests.

Now some quests even show the old rewards in the quests and when you turn them in you get g. At lvl20! And some easy money? Go for the daily's in Quel'danas. If you got herbalism, mining or skinning Look at AH how much you can earn with your profession. Don't complain, come plane and work with your lazy ss.

Comment by I have 3 lvl 80's on the alliance side, I decided to lvl a horde and found that you can only purchase the Tome if you have a lvl 80, but I was only able to purchase the book for my alliance toons because I already had an 80 in that faction. So I currently have a lvl 70 undead that can't fly until lvl 77 because I do not already have an 80 horde.

I think blizzard should change this because they note that they wanted it to be easier to lvl alts. In my opinion you should be able to purchase the book if you have a lvl 80 on either the alliance or horde. Comment by aganlon How can it be i've just seen lvl.

Has the level requirement been lowered? Comment by Oddyssey Let us not forget, 4 What is the flight velocity of an unladen swallow? Comment by 1 As you approach an intersection, you and a Death Knight both stop simultaneously. Who should yield?

Comment by Read the damn posts. If you're lvl 80 then you can buy Tome of Cold Weather Flying and give it to an alt that's at least lvl 68, so that they can learn it. Comment by 4 What is the flight velocity of an unladen swallow proto drake?

Comment by redbullah There are only 3 npcs that you can learn cold weather flying from. And since none of them are member of a faction, there will be no discount for learning this skill. Comment by I think the words "Bind to Account" are a bit ambiguous. I have one WoW account with alts in Horde and Alliance. The ambiguity is that my level 80 Alliance alts can't mail things to my horde alts. If it was truly "bind to Account " I should be able to buy the CWF tome with an Alliance alt and mail it to my Horde alt whether on the same or a different server - I can't - so it's not really Bind to Account but bind to a faction on one server.

Comment by As of 4. Now if only they could reduce the costs for the two Epic flying ranks Comment by HeyJimmy Can't find any information about it Comment by Valdan Sorry folks to all of you that paid 1k gold but as of patch recently it is g! Now if only I'd get that refund i spent the day before patch. Comment by changed with 4. WoW info. Gathering Production Secondary. Allied races. Useful macros What are addons?

Comments Comment by Kaneiac This is confusing me a little bit. Alliance is my primary main side. Okay, cool. I leveled a horde, and he's now I figured, since the tome allowed it at 68, I could train the actual flying at 68, but it still requires Since I don't have a horde capable of purchasing the book, do I have to wait until 77 before I can fly on him?

Comment by Xamanes This Tome is a nice addition for anyone who loves leveling alts. Comment by Would be nice if they just changed the level of witch you can train Cold weather flying to 70 or somthing like that. Would make it easier on both new peeps and for those who have more accounts or starting alts on diffrent servers.

Comment by Sylvandas You are not Richard Tyler, you can not fly this book. Comment by Yeah, that cleared it up. I actually thought you don't need to buy CWF on your alts after you've leveled a toon to 80, but meh : Thanks.

Comment by Do I have to be lvl 80 to buy it, or can I buy it in lvl 77? Comment by Cons: staying on the ground as normal is best for max XP and min quests until 77, because of all the extra few mobs that you don't fly over.

Comment by alexataide Do I have to have riding skill to read it or can I just buy the book and tada, use my flying carpet? Comment by Cold Weather Flying simply allows you to use your flying mounts in Northrend. Get the tome, send to alt, quicker leveling. Comment by Conal Okay, let me add my two cents: I leveled my DK to 77 first before my other alts and paid g for Cold Weather Flying CWF the option to buy the tome was not available to me at that time.

However, once I reached level 80 I went back to the CWF trainer and the tome was available for purchase for g same amount as what I paid already , even though I'd already trained for it at level And since I just got my rogue to Northrend my DK can purchase yet another tome for g and mail it to my rogue so that alt can fly in Northrend. Hope this helps. Comment by gecko Would it be possible to buy this, mail it to my lvl 44 warlock, transfer the warlock to a server where i only have a lvl 70 and mail the book to that char?

Comment by diet Possibly, but in reality this book has the following purpose: It's this simple. You have a level 80 toon of 'X' faction. You have a level 68 toon of also 'X' faction. You buy this book on the level 80, and mail it to the level All of this takes place on the same server, and the same faction.

You can now fly earlier since you already leveled to 80 once before. That's it, that's all it does, it IS used up, it has 1 charge, you have to be level 80 to buy it, to see the vendor at all, you cannot trade it to other people, no someone else cannot buy it for you just like any other BOA or BOP item.

Can any other BOA item? If yes, then yes it can, if no, then no it can't. Nothing more to say, no need for more question, that's it. Edit for people who don't understand flying: This, as does the normal Cold Weather Training, does 1 thing and 1 thing only, it upgrades your current flying skill to be usable in Northrend, that's all it does.

Does it make it so you can learn flying mounts? No, that's riding training, that's entirely different, go look it up. All this does, just as normal Cold Weather Training from the trainer at level 77 does, is upgrade your abilities to work in Northrend. Comment by thebbandit I just bought this tome for my shammy and now im leveling twice as fast in northrend! Comment by ZanathKariashi Now that faction swaps are up, if you're willing to spent the time and cash, once you've maxed all but one of the classes you want on a server, you can load up a charcter with all the hierloom items, inculding this book, and then faction swap to the other side.

And if nessecary, then swap realms if you're hurting for space. It'll set you back 55 dollars Comment by Can you transfer this book to another server? I got my 80 on a different server then my alt, so can you transfer the book? Comment by I've put 2 characters through northrend before the introduction of this tome, and while the first time was an amazing new experience because the quests were new and the continent as a whole is stunning.

The second time through, it seemed quite tedious and at points fairly boring. This book will remedy that on my next character s i put through NR. Comment by It's a shame when people all crazy excited when they see this item. They see the whole "Requires Level 68" and for the people who are just running through the game for the first time are probably thinking "woo I can fly at 68", sadly this is not the case.

Rule if you're flicking through these comments: Got a level 80? Then you can get this item. No level 80? Then you cannot get this item. I'll admit, Blizzard didn't really make it very obvious to players, even now on my realm, people are still questioning it Comment by Fione Also of note: You actually have to mail this book to the character who needs to use it. Don't be fooled into thinking because it is account bound, that you can send to another character on a different server. In reality it's server bound.
