Does anyone sell on ebay anymore

It will also be eligible for special price alerts e. Adding product identifiers is highly recommended to maximize your potential on eBay through better product placement and better SEO data for search engines. Product attributes define the relevant and important facts about a product — such as brand, style, size, and color. Product attributes are created by mapping the product specs to the item specifics of the eBay category.

Providing a very detailed set of item specifics will create a complete set of structured data that allows the search engine to locate and filter products. This improves the relevance of search results to what users are typing in their search queries. If applicable, include the dimensions of the item in the attributes. The product dimensions should specify the size of the actual product, not the packaging size.

Here are some important details to remember when creating the attribute list for a multi-pack or manufacturer-created bundle:. Another tip is to include product variants on one page instead of multiple. You could use spreadsheets if you only have a half-dozen items listed, like eBay Ellen.

However, if you have hundreds, thousands, or even millions of products, a spreadsheet will be too complicated, unwieldy, and inadequate. A feed management platform , used in conjunction with an ecommerce platform like BigCommerce, can make your listings much more manageable.

You never want to be in a position where you are listing out-of-stock items on your site. With feed management platforms, orders are updated and synced to your online store.

A client needed help with managing orders for two marketplaces: eBay and Amazon. This client had multiple products that were low in stock, and they wanted to avoid running into an oversold situation — which can get sellers suspended from eBay. Feedonomics was able to solve this problem by intelligently controlling inventory on multiple channels.

The best practices listed here are much the same as best practices you should follow on any marketplace, as well as on your ecommerce site. Here are some general tips, with more information to follow:. Take high-resolution photos against a plain white background to make the products stand out. Make sure the lighting is sufficient to feature the item and its relevant details.

Try taking shots of the product from different angles, and get some close-up shots as well to highlight details. Cost and speed are top of mind for eBay buyers. Offer competitive shipping prices low-cost or free shipping is best to appeal to more buyers and increase your chances of a sale.

They gain even more popularity each year, proving that ecommerce is going nowhere but up. But, which platform is better when selling online, especially with forecasts and changes in the way people are shopping online?

The long answer is all in the numbers and what each has to offer. This total is impressive, yet still lower than profits reported in previous years. With their continued innovation and adaptability to changing technology trends, Amazon is quickly taking over the world and when it comes to speed of delivery -- we're talking about 48 hours -- no other company compares. That's especially true now that Amazon has launched AmazonAir.

Using drones, some deliveries can reach you within 30 minutes. And because it is an auction site, sellers are often able to get more than the item is actually worth. You also have more creative freedom when it comes to designing your product page. Selling on a platform like eBay is ideal for people who are just getting started in the ecommerce world.

The market is what it is, ebay or not. If you are only looking for the best of the best deals, then ebay may not always be for you. Prices are many times inflated, no question, but if you really need something, a part, a figure, whatever, you can generally find it on ebay, just maybe not for the bargain price you were hoping for. But, mabye that's the market for that piece or figure, because if you could buy someplace else for cheaper, I guess you already would have.

Market price on ebay is really a misnomer. Auctions are like that. You have to have a buyer that wants the item for the price you are willing to sell it and they have to see your auction before they buy it elsewhere. If I can post 3 items like this in an hour with pictures and decent description including time spent packaging, printing shipping labels and dropping off at the Post Office I can do that, but I'm not willing to do all that work for any less than that.

My time is worth more than that. And I can tell you it's pushing it to say 3 items fully posted and shipped in an hour sometimes. If you have a dozen of something you can post and ship quicker, but the above paragraph is just my mindset. AGree with my fellow collectors that just posted, if ones items are not selling on ebay, then its just not in demand.

While it is true that prices in SW items are coming down and the downside is picking up steam, I have been seeing this in my data base since pre, if you have an item that is wanted, popular, or doesnt come up all the time, the bidders are going to show up on ebay and it will sell. So maybe people are waiting until the last few minutes to swoop in? I don't feel like it's the stuff I've been listing. Never understood this reasoning at all.

It's just a buyer looking to pay less than market value. Joined Feb 7, Messages Reaction score Just out of curiosity I looked up some farmboys and leias since those are normally when I decide to rebuild to see what was available and whereas a few month ago you could always find about loose complete luke farmboys and maybe loose complete leias with guns that look like they might not be repro or blue ones lol.

Maybe things are just static right now with hoarders getting more and more of the great specimens out of the marketplace.

If that's the case, only a bad economic marketplace or at least the fear of it might shake things loose again. Then again maybe everyone's just on vacation lol. I lose most of what I bid on in the last 30 seconds of any auction and normally by.

Okay, so riddle me this. I get the brick and motor store argument, but those costs are distributed over many, many sales. That's just me, I think ebay has an inflated mark up built into it. Does that mean I don't use ebay It's like a home for sale by owner. If we don't use a realtor, I expect at least a 4. It's perspective. The ONLY person that benefits is the buyer. Seller makes a little more than they do on ebay, buyer gets it a little less.

Again, that's just looking to buy for less than ebay market value. Talking about the fees, it is a bit higher than those of eBay. In spite of the high price, Rakuten is a fairly good alternative to eBay. The platform claims that more than , products are added each day.

This fee arrangement will take the pressure off new merchants who might not have much sales volume at first. It can also work well if your E-commerce venture is just a small business side hustle. You can sell almost anything on Craigslist. There are no selling or listing fees, but it is super basic both in design and automation of the selling process.

While eBay charges for listing and selling products, Craigslist charges only a small handful of post types, such as job listings or vehicles. Products are free to list on Craigslist. So, there is a higher risk here. Plus, Craigslist requires you to locally sell, which limits your reach compared to eBay.
